This past Sunday the Independants battled the heat, as well as the Quarrymen, at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union IL.

The combination of the heat, as well as an offensive onslaught from Lemont, that dug a hole too big for McHenry to get out of and the Quarrymen’s rock solid defense made it a lopsided affair.  The game was called before the full nine innings due to the heat and in consideration of the safety of the players and our kranks. We were successful however, in introducing vintage base ball and the connection between the railroads and the development of the sport to many new fans.
